Our new mascot? 7/2019

Updated: Nov 18, 2020

The story of Uno…..

My daughter, Abby, and I were spending a Saturday morning running from yard sale to yard sale. Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to yard sale and thrift shop, it is the best! Anyway, we happened on a place that had goats and dogs for sale. It broke my heart to see these little guys, both the dogs and goats, in the little tiny pens, being sold at a yard sale. I knew I needed to take one home with me. I also knew the goats were not an option, dang it, but I do know my limits. Now about the puppies….

The puppies were Australian Shepherd, but it was explained to me that there was something “wrong” with the white one. Well, there was nothing wrong with him, he was deaf and blind in one eye, but that isn’t wrong, it is just that, deaf and blind. Of course, I had to have him, puppy love at first site!

Wait….the hubby was out of town and we already had 2 dogs at home…..good thing he loves me!! A quick phone call to him explaining the situation and telling him “it would be fun” and I was taking the puppy home.

Now to watch training videos on teaching a dog sign language. Turns out he is very smart and quickly learned some sign, and he does react to just facial expressions, mostly when he is in trouble. He is the sweetest puppy and we will be his furever family and he will be the mascot for the farm.

Welcome Uno!!
